Halloween was awesome!

On Halloween, I had fun. I dressed up as a winged cat and we took Holden trick-or-treating. He was Batman. First, we went to the haunted house. We went through and nobody chased me. I went to the end of the haunted house and started petting the dog sitting there. That was the most patient dog I have ever seen.  The dog just sat there and let me pet him instead of jumping on me and licking us in the face. The only thing that could pull me away from the puppy was the fact that I was about to get 3 large tootsie roll pops. Then we went trick or treating. We walked to a bunch of houses and got a large haul of candy. At one house, I got skittles and something else I can't remember what it is, and Holden grabbed candy and a bag of pretzels. At another house, I reached for one tootsie roll and the person there picked all the tootsie rolls out of the bowl and put them into my bucket.  After we did all the houses that were participating, we went home and I dumped all my candy onto the table. I got a packet of spree candies, some skittles, some chocolates, some laffy taffy, and a bunch of tootsie rolls. We looked at the packet of pretzels that Holden got, and the pretzels were allergy safe. Then we traded out all his candy for the nut free candy that Mom bought for him. Holden grabbed a lolly pop and ate it while Dad stole some of his Peanot candies. Peanot is a candy that tastes like peanut but is safe for Holden. I ate tootsie rolls and laffy taffy until Holden went to bed. Then Dad let me go into the haunted house alone. Nobody jumped out at me, so I was underwhelmed, but they handed me 2 bits of chocolate even though I had already been there. The dog had gone inside. I walked out of the haunted house with a mouthful of caramel chocolate. Dad wanted some, so I handed him the wrapper as a joke.

Unlike what I thought I would have to do, which is lock myself in the closet if I wanted to eat my candy, Holden is delighted with his lollipops and does not mind me eating candy that he can't have right next to him as long as he has some of his candy.  Plus, Mom and Dad are letting me keep my candy in my room this year!
